Roulette rules are easy to comprehend and remember - when the roulette wheel stops, the ball comes to rest in one of the numbered slots so you have to guess what slot it will fall into. According to roulette rules, Roulette game can be two types – American Roulette and European Roulette (or French Roulette). American Roulette has thirty-eight numbers on its wheel, including 1 to 36, a 0 ("zero") and a 00 ("double zero") according to its roulette rules. European Roulette wheel has thirty-seven numbers, including 1 to 36, a 0 ('zero'), so it is played a bit differently.

Roulette rules state the types of bet you can choose:

Red/Black, Even/Odd, Low/High Bets - You can place a bet in one of the boxes on the left, long side of the table that covers half of the roulette table numbers (excluding the 0). Each box covers 18 numbers. You win even money (1 to 1) on all of these bets; 0 and 00 (for American Roulette) are losing numbers.

Corner Bet - You can bet on four numbers by placing chips at the corner where the four numbers meet.

Street Bet - You can bet on three numbers by placing a chip on the inner left boundary line of the roulette table that is next to the corresponding row of three numbers.

Straight Up - You can bet on any number, including 0 and 00 (for American Roulette), by placing the chip on the center of a number.

Split Bet – By roulette rules you can bet on two numbers by placing a chip on the line that divides the two numbers.

Four Bet (refers to Five Bet in American Roulette) – According to roulette rules you can bet on the numbers 0, 1, 2, and 3 by placing your chip on the inner left boundary line between 0 and 1. Five Bet (gambling rules for American Roulette only) - You can bet on the numbers 0, 00, 1, 2, and 3 by placing your chip on the boundary line, where the line between 0 and the first row intersects it.

Line Bet - You can bet on two street bets (i.e., the six different numbers in two rows of three numbers), by placing your chip on the inner left boundary line where the line dividing the two rows intersects it according roulette rules.

Column Bet – By roulette rules there are three boxes labeled "2 to 1" at the bottom of a column of numbers on roulette table. You can place bets for all of these numbers by placing your chip in one of these boxes. If any of the numbers in your column is hit you get paid 2:1; 0 and 00 (for American Roulette) are losing numbers.

Dozen Bet - You can bet on a group of twelve numbers by placing your chip in one of the three boxes marked "1st 12," "2nd 12," or "3rd 12." If one of your 12 numbers is hit, you are paid 2:1; 0 and 00 (for American Roulette) are losing numbers.
